DAY 02: PHNOM PENH – SIEM REAP (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Phnom Penh International airport for departure flight to Siem Reap
a.m. Depart Phnom Penh by flight to Siem Reap, Arrive at Siem Reap airport and transfer to hotel then visit the antique capital of Angkor Thom: the South Gate, the Bayon with 54 towers, each carved with four faces of the compassionate Boddhisattva, the nearby temple-mountain of Baphuon, the Royal Enclosure with the Phimeanakas temple, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King, lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon, visit Angkor Vat (early-mid 12th century) dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. This huge temple-mountain, built by King Suryavarman II, is considered as the masterpiece of Khmer architecture and art. Sunset from Phnom Bakeng Hill, offering an outstanding view over Angkor. DAY 03: SIEM REAP – BANTEAY SREI (Breakfast/Lunch)
Breakfast at hotel, a.m. Visit the famous temple of Bantey Srey “the Citadel of Women”. This small pink sandstone temple (late 10th century) is considered as the crown jewel of classical Khmer art with the delicate beauty of its carvings. Continue to Bantey Samre (mid 12th century), which has been admirably restored. And after lunch, you’ll also see Ta Prohm, strangled by massive tree roots and typical of the condition of the whole complex when French naturalist Henri Mouhot discovered it in 1860. Your guide will then show you the Prasat Kravan (also known as the Cardomom Sanctuary) and Srah Srang lake and landing terrace. The Srah Srang is less touristic and could be sunrise alternative to Angkor Wat. Accommodation at hotel in Siem Reap.
